Krueger is the boss of the queer fetish club scene. Her nights are
the stuff of legend, a mix of extreme dress codes, harder than hard
house music, debauchery and an anything goes philosophy. Unfortunately
Krueger's talent for providing unforgettable clubbing experiences
was not to the taste of some people and her club FIST was closed
down by local authorities last year. But now she's back and better
than ever with the rudely named Hard On. Krueger stopped by to talk
about her reputation as the hardest gal in town.
Could you say a little bit about your new club?
Hard On has taken over from where FIST had left off. It's a fetish
night with a very strict dress code. The difference is that we are
operating as a members only club and people must sign a consent
form before they attend the club night. That way everyone who comes
knows exactly what they are getting into. Hard On has been
running for six months now and is doing well. We attract the mildly
kinky to the very kinky. It's mostly guys but some women do manage
to come along. I wish that more women attended.
How did you start out as a promoter?
I became a club promoter completely by accident. I moved to
London in March of 1990 and was working at First Out café,
of all places, when in comes this stripper from South Africa who
took a shine to me. Anyway she was working at a small strip club
called Jack's Place just near Goodge St. Her boss happened to be
a dyke and a few months later they asked me if I would organise
some parties for girls. Well I didn't have a clue, but I started
running these parties called The Clit Club and things just took
off from there. Here I am 13 and a half years later and I'm still
organising pervy parties.
What's your favourite club of all time?
It has to be Trade before 1994. It was absolutely mad back then.
The music, the people, oh and of course the drugs. I'd never experienced
anything like that in my entire life.
I see you as a gay woman working in a gay man's world, is that
true?
Yes it is true.
I am a gay woman working in a gay man's industry. I have had to
fight hard to get what I want and how I want it. I sometimes wonder
if it would have been easier if I was a gay man - then I could have
fucked my way into getting what I need! Most of the time I consider
myself a person, not boy nor girl, just someone trying to get a
job done.
How come so few dykes are into SM and fetish stuff compared to
gay guys?
I think the guys are so much more sexually liberated than us girls.
They tend to be more sexually active and definitely more experimental.
You know us girls like to stay home and kiss and cuddle of the sofa!
Well, at least I do!
What's the biggest misconception people have about you?
My reputation is that I am some tough hardcore SM dyke and not to
be messed with. I am tough when it comes to business and
I don't take any shit. However I'm not hardcore at all, just a loving,
caring, sensitive kinda girl who loves staying at home when I'm
not in school doing my law degree.
How hardcore are you really?!
Not hardcore at all - I enjoy kissing and cuddling the most! There
are no girls chained up in my bedroom, that's for sure.
